Can you understand how things fail, why things fail and implement change so things don’t fail?
Things. That’s pretty wide open huh? In this role, your key ‘things’ are your people and the machinery they are responsible for. Our people are really important to us, so they’ll be really important to you too. We’ll give your teams (there are 4 shifts) the physical tools they need to carry out their job, but you’ll support your team and give them the non-physical tools to ensure they develop and grow their skills and careers and through your coaching and support, you’ll empower them to deliver outstanding service to our business. Your extensive engineering background in the food industry will steer your decision making. If there was a cable tie holding the team together, you would be that cable tie.
On a day to day basis, your team’s challenge is to maximise plant uptime by ensuring the effective application of good engineering practices. When downtime occurs, you’ll analyse failures to root cause using the application of lean techniques such as RCM/TPM/FMEA, to change what happens next time.
