Obviously, finance is your vocation. You also have great analytical skills – which extend past just numbers; you challenge proposals and processes too.
Pace. It’s fast. You need to be OK with that because this is FMCG. You’ll understand that pace from a previous life in FMCG (ideally food) before. You need to be more than OK with it because it doesn’t stop. We’re a constantly evolving company in a fast-paced industry, so there’s no getting away from fast pace here.
You need to love people as well as figures in this role because you’ll be partnering our sales team. They’re a brilliant team with bundles of ideas that will help us and our customers get our products in front of consumers – you’ll need to control that creativity, whilst still ensuring we develop competitive pricing initiatives.
As far as qualifications go, it’s newly qualified or finalist CIMA or ACCA level – by exam or experience. In terms of systems, the team is big on Excel, so you need to be a bit of a whizz and if you’ve got the patience, skill and tenacity to redesign the process – even better.
