Our range of dried fruit, nuts and seeds provides endless opportunities for delicious combinations which will help nourish your body and mind!

Here are some examples of ways you can sprinkle some Whitworths magic over your breakfast, lunch and dinner so your body and mind are left feeling GRAPEful.

Bewitching Breakfasts:

The best part about this recipe is that it is so versatile. You could add or substitute many ingredients such as cranberries and chopped apricots. If you wanted to give to a tropical twist, you could even add some dried mango, desiccated coconut or pineapple.

Levitating Lunches:

If you’re like me then you’re probably bored of routine, boring sandwiches for every lunch. Stop with the sarnies and try this recipe for Farro and Spinach Salad with Dried Fruits and Nuts, the best part is this recipe is completely vegan too!

Included in this recipe were raisins, cranberries, mixed nuts and/or mixed seeds but don’t worry if you aren’t a fan of these as like the previous recipe, it is very versatile. You could use an array of dried fruits including sultanas, apricots and figs! If you aren’t vegan you could also add some feta or goats cheese to give the dish an additional flavour boost even though this may not be necessary due to the delicious range of flavoursome ingredients used! Raisins are one of our ‘Think Sharp’ packs and they are rich in Potassium which is crucial to the health of our overall nervous system.

Daring Dinners:

You may think it’s difficult to come up with delicious savoury dishes which include dried fruits, nuts and seeds but with help from the internet the possibilities are endless! For example, this recipe for Empanada Beef Chilli contains chopped walnuts, raisins and black beans!

Raisins and black beans are both sources of natural fibre which helps to maintain and support the health of your gut microbiome as well as improve digestive comfort! According to this article by Holland & Barrett, black beans are also rich in micro and macronutrients which support muscle and bone health! Ground walnuts are also a great addition to your spaghetti bolognaise to use as a substitute for mince. Some recipes also suggest to half the amount of mince used and replace the other half with ground walnuts to reduce red meat intake!

Dazzling Deserts:

Using dried fruit in deserts goes beyond Christmas cakes, a vibrant array of dried fruits with diverse colours, flavours and textures are waiting in your local stores to power up your puddings. Why not try this recipe for dried mango muffins? Rich in natural fibre, dried mango is proven to support gut health and digestive comfort. Dried mango is also bursting with Vitamin C which helps to promote a healthy, thriving immune system!
