Water
What is Water?
Water is a key part of dietary intake for health and wellbeing as approximately 60% of bodyweight is water. Water can be found in diet through fluid and food intake such as tea, coffee, water, fruits and vegetables. The recommended water intake is 6 to 8 cups of fluid per day. Hot weather or physical activity increases fluid requirements.

What is the role of Water?
Water intake is an essential part of the diet to help prevent dehydration. The body loses water through different processes such as sweating. Keeping up with fluid intake to maintain a good level of hydration helps to replace these fluid losses.
What contains Water?
Water can be consumed in different ways including water, tea/coffee, fruit juices and smoothies, milks, and soda. Some of these sources also contribute to the intake of other components of dietary intake such as energy, micronutrient, and sugars.
